CLASSICAL BALLET

Classical Ballet can take us to other worlds and times. It is something beyond our daily life. It uses many conventions and that’s what makes it clear and understandable, which need no language or other forms of communication.

In 1700 Pierre Beauchamp built the base of academicism, when he also elaborated the five positions of the feet, transforming the art of ballet in the most enduring of all forms of dance.

Although the ballet was born in Italy, it was in France that became known as ballet’s homeland;  that’s why steps have French names.

Classical Ballet has 3 teaching modules:

MODULE I – 4 LEVELS

  • Preparation for Dance I ( children of 3 years)
  • Preparation II (children of 4 years)
  • Pre-ballet I (children of 5 years)
  • Pre-ballet II (children of 6 years)

 

Module I embraces the first 4 years of learning preparatory course, splited in 4 levels. At this stage of learning, children are encouraged to work in a fun and creative way.

From birth, the baby has all the basic coordination, that will influence all your future achievements as sitting, crawling, walking, talking, DANCING…

Petite Danse believes that the development of a human being is done in stages. Until each of them is fully fulfilled, the passage to the next one will be easier.

Feel, perceive and know the body and its possibilities regarding movement and expression: run, jump, roll, pinch, rotate, breathe, playing and building itself.

The development of a child is the result of interaction of the body with the environment they live in, with the people who lives in and with the world which establishes affective and emotional links.

The movement should be worked through the knowledge of the body with the space, the body’s relationship with the objects and the intellect.

Methodology

The applied content is studied and developed from the natural movements of children and the use of symbolism and fantasy, allowing to stimulate the development of imagination and creative activity.

The child’s individuality is respected at every stage of its development, maintaining motivation, encouragement for dance classes, favoring organization, respecting not only their chronological age, but mostly its psychomotor maturation.

Various materials are used to assist the learning of the program’s contents.

Ballet classes are always creative, using teaching resources that can facilitate learning content established by the program, such as stories, songs, objects and props (balls, bows, balloons, rubber bands, etc…).

Classical Ballet has 3 teaching modules:

We believe that when the child knows his/her body well through experimentation, knowing itself in full way, we help forming bodies and intelligent beings, able to dance divinely and live in a balanced and harmonious way.

Specifics Goals

The planning of the dance preparatory course applies notions of body awareness, space, time, movement dynamics, coordination, motor skills, balance, memory, musicality, concentration, creativity, socialization, postural exercises and stretching, as well as contribute to the development of discipline habits and stimulate the joy of learning this specialty, working dinamic movement education, varied and creative, turning studies into a more exciting and productive activity.

  • postural exercises and stretching.
Classical Ballet is not an exclusive activity for children and teens. It’s an excelent option of exercise for those who wants a healthy body and a peaceful mind.

MÓDULO II – 2 + 3

It’s split in two preliminary years and 3 basic  years, when will start the study of classical techniques itself and specifically the pre-vocational course.

  • Preliminary I and II – childre aged 7 – 9 years
  • Basic I and II – children aged 9 – 11 years
  • Intermediate Basic – children with the technical habilities to iniciate tip ballet learning

Methodology

At this stage, Petite Danse combines part of the contents of the Royal School (British) and then the study will be completed by school Vaganova (Russian).

In the fulfillment of his desire, the child, in acting, finds the judgment of the adult. From this trial, he discovers punishment and guilt, through the valuation of his behaviors judged positive, beautiful, right or not. The intervention of an educator is limited to a positive verbal plan, the gesture measured, honest and sincere.

PROFISSIONAL

  • 1st   Technical year
  • 2nd  Technical year
  • 3rd  Technical year

It is divided in 3 teaching levels, by technical development of the students.
