CONTEMPORARY DANCE

The dance style “Contemporary Dance” was born in the USA, in 1960. It started as modern dance, but it doesn’t have a established unique technique: all types of people can practice it. It’s an comprehensive technique that doesn’t delimit clothes styles, musics, spaces or movements. There are no mechanisms defined, but processes and creation ways. It emerges a new notion of the body, searching a more experimental sense, less stratified. There’s no ideal body but a multicultural one with several references. What is important is the transmission of feelings, ideas and concepts.
